Weee Disposals
and Recycling
Due to the
rapid evolution of IT equipment, many organisations have redundant
equipment they wish to dispose of. At present, an estimated
1.5 million obsolete PCs get buried each year in landfill sites. The
problems of this mountain of waste are compounded by pollution from
toxic chemicals such as lead, arsenic and mercury.
Removing and disposing of computer equipment
is not as easy as throwing the equipment into a skip or donating it
to a charity. Your organisation is responsible for not only
disposing of the equipment in an environmentally correct manner but
also ensuring that private / confidential data has been completely
destroyed.
Signals IT
Ltd offers businesses a nationwide collection and recycling service
for all your used IT equipment. We have a team of experts offering
advice on how to maximise the value of redundant IT equipment and
how to extend the life of your assets.
We can
also arrange the collection and recycling of equipment which is no
longer useful. This equipment is processed in accordance with
current environmental legislation (Weee).
We aim to
keep the cost of environmental treatment, metal recycling and
collection to an absolute minimum.
All equipment
that is declared un-recyclable is sent to our partnered refiner
where all precious metals, glass and plastics are extracted. 5% of
profit made from this process is donated to a charity. (Oxfam
