Autumn pressure caused Parcelforce to require an additional 500 wearable scanners on a short term three month rental including managed maintenance service.

A further requirement on top of repair, manage and maintain theses rented devices, Signals were asked to provide the same managed service for The Parcelforce existing estate of devices during this period.

Signals supplied the additional 500 Symbol Wearable Device with consumable accessories (wrist straps, finger straps, scanner holders, cradles, cables, etc.); asset logged, tested, configured and delivered to each individual site.

Whilst Signals had the facilities to maintain or repair any device, it became clear that a more interactive web based asset management and repair portal was needed.

Signals engaged one of its sister companies – CloudStuff Programming team deployed Continuum Web-based asset management system.  Continuum is a serial number dependent returns management and workflow system, working with SmartConsign to include track and trace for inbound and outbound deliveries.

Signals provided a complete solution within the budget stipulated by Parcelforce.  Parcelforce exceeded their required scan to parcel ratio.  Due to Continuum Asset Management all 500 rented devices were returned to Signals, therefore suffering no penalty.
