UK Mail were expanding their operation into tracked small package items. This required the ability to facilitate fast barcode scanning and label printing outside their current infrastructure.
Signals sister company – 51T designed and prototyped a new workstation, affectionately named ‘Beverley’, as the existing 51T ‘Betsy’ and ‘Bertha’ Workstation Designs were unsuitable.
Beverley is WiFi enabled and designed to fit through a standard doorway, Plugged into a standard 240v wall socket, with a 5M length power cable, internal storage for a PC, pillar mounted monitor and a desktop area keyboard & mouse, large format thermal label printer and wireless barcode scanner.
Even with all these features Beverley can easily be manoeuvred, by one person – which is unique.
UK Mail selected 51T Beverley Workstation over cheaper options; based on the strength of the design, functionality, ruggedness and general innovation.
Compact enough to fit on a pallet or inside a pallet sized cage, Beverley can be transported fully assembled, delivered pre-configured for each site and ready for operation.
